A car accident in Sandy Lake on May 28th left 3 year-old Elaine Beardy with a completely severed foot. After 12 hours of surgery, Elaine's foot was reattached and she is now recovering in the Children's Centre at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg.
Sandy Lake's strong spirit of giving and helping it's community members in times of need shined through when a donation drive raised close to $1,500.00 for Elaine. Board Elections - Nomination List
The following people were nominated to run for the Board Elections following the nomination meetings held Thursday, May 28th.
Sandy Lake band members may vote on Thursday, June 4, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Band Office. For those band members who won't be in the community on June 4th, advance polling will be open on Tuesday, June 2, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Band Office. CAP Walleye Derby
Sandy Lake First Nation Community Assistance Program (CAP) is hosting a walleye fishing derby on July 4, 2009.
