Stroke Prevention Program to provide options for healthy living
Beginning in March, the Sandy Lake Health Authority will be offering a new 7-week program to its community members.
The Stroke Prevention Project has been designed to include twice-weekly exercise fitness classes and weekly information sessions to increase the awareness on the risk factors of stroke.
The 7-week program will be delivered to five groups of 10 participants over the next year.
The Sandy Lake Health Authority has collaborated with St. Joseph's Care Group to secure a $125,000 research grant from the Ministry of Health Promotion to deliver and implement the Stroke Prevention Program in Sandy Lake.
