Chief and Council has approved the following notice to the membership of Sandy Lake First Nation:

A general election for the 2009-2011 term will be held for the following Boards:
 
1)                  Sandy Lake Board of Education
 
2)                  Sandy Lake Health Authority
 
3)                  Sandy Lake Housing Authority
 
4)                  Sandy Lake Community Development Corporation Services Inc.
 
 
Nomination Meetings:
(For each of the 5 geographical areas of Sandy Lake)

*Advance polling is for membership that will not be in the community on Election Day.

The Board Election Working Group has been appointed as Electoral Officers for the 2009 Board Elections:
 
1)                  David B. Fiddler
2)                  Lisa Meekis
3)                  Lorraine Kakegamic
4)                  Willow Fiddler
5)                  Penina Rae
 
The Electoral Officers are responsible for ensuring the Board Election Policy is implemented during the election process. Please contact any member of the Working Group before May 14, 2009, if you have any questions regarding the Board Election Policy.  Copies of the Board Election Policy are available at the Band Office. 
 
We are confident the Board Election process will be positive and constructive. Everyone’s participation in this process is appreciated.
