600 kids to receive food hampers this Christmas
More than 100 volunteers gathered to put together food hampers this evening.
The annual event is coordinated and sponsored by the welfare administration program and partnering programs to provide 600 children with food hamper bags for the holiday season.
The bags include a selection of non-perishable foods, winter gloves, the Health Authority Christmas newsletter, and the new Sandy Lake 2010 calendar featuring photos of the community and its people.
It took just over an hour for the volunteers to pack the 600 bags and will be given to each student in both the elementary school and high school.
